In order to optimize each resume, I prompted Chat ai to create a new resume using the original information that was tailored towards a marketing job and the same for the other resume but tailored for a finance job. The exact prompt was “use this resume to create a new resume tailored to a marketing job I am applying to”. All of my work history, education and general information stayed the same between resumes. However, the professional summary and the core skills were adjusted to be directed at the type of job I was applying to. For the marketing resume chat ai added skills such as market trend awareness and content creation. Compared to the finance resume which it added words such as cash handling and reporting and documentation. I learned that using a very clear prompt can get a good result from ai but using a vague one can get a very unclear response or not what I am looking for. I also learned that you can use the skills you already have and tailor your resume to be more attractive to the job field you are applying to. Since ai was able to tailor my resume to two fairly different jobs.
